gift box for Valentines

I talked about a CTMH workshop I attended yesterday, and today I wanted to show you the gift box we made:
The cover is a clear slider, made from an 8.5 inch square of acetate.  The box was made from a couple of pieces black cardstock.  There are 4 mini cards with envelopes in here, along with the three pieces of candy.  It's lovely, but I have no idea who to give it to!  the "kiss me" cards are a little too provocative for children's valentines - I thought about giving the whole set to my high school aged son.  He could have used the mini cards for girls, and eaten the candy himself, but I didn't think he would appreciate the "kiss me" cards, either.

That's the problem with this project - it's precious, but useless.  That could just be me - would you give something like this to someone?  If you were making it from scratch with a different theme, what theme would you use?
Challenges:
A spoon full of sugar - anything but a card
Oldie but a Goodie - add a heart
Crafty Cardmakers - plastic (I would have entered their hearts one too, but that wouldn't be right!)
Cupcake Craft - hearts
Kaboodle Doodles - hearts and flowers
Creative cowgirls - hearts

Lots of heart challenges!

Great project Juliet, lovely papers and I love how you have covered the candy.

If I was going to give this to someone it would probably be a girl at college/uni to use. If I was to make one I would use a nature theme and give it to my friend who still likes to send snail mail occasionally.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful project with us at the Creative Cowgirls Challenge. :-) xx

This is a gorgeous gift set!!
If you've no one to give it to, why not donate it to a small, local craft shop? Perhaps they'd give you a few free papers or something in return.
Thanks for playing at Kaboodle Doodles and good luck!

Well, I do like the concept. Not fond of the stamp set. I might throw the Kiss Me cards into my husband's briefcase just to irritate him when they fall out at a meeting ...

Juliet, I'm so glad you enjoyed my workshop and thanks for attending. I was a little uncertain with my design and color choices, but they seem to be a big hit! Good luck with your challenges.

if i were to stay with the valentine these, i would be more generic, like "be mine" or "happy valentine's day". any other theme would work, too. how about as an insert into a gift bag or box to say who it is from. add it along with a "thank you" gift or a bouquet of flowers. all of these could be made with general-themed stamps. this is a cool idea, though.

I can see putting a funny messages with a twist inside and sending them off to good friends. As for making it again, I might only substitute 'SMILE' for 'KISS ME'

Thanks for playing along with the Cowgirls! This is a great project from ne of my favorite companies. I'd probably make a more generic version ~ or give as is to my college aged cousin! She would rock it!
