The brown cardstock has a linen texture, so when I stamped it with a silhouette stamp, the texture completely changed the look! I thought it was such a cool effect, I didn't want to do anything else to it, but it did need a little sentiment, so I stamped it on a strip of patterned vellum, and wrapped it around the brown like a piece of ribbon (which makes it easy to adhere without any glue showing). The sentiment is embossed with copper ink, and for such a simple card, it looks very luxurious!
A part of the story of this card is the base. Michael's periodically sells notecards in their dollar bins, and if they don't sell, they get marked down even further. I got a pack of 8 with envelopes for only a quarter, and they look like this:
It is just too easy to cover that tiny image and use it as card base! The vellum and brown cardstock were scraps, too, so... less than a nickel? Stamps are from a•muse studio.
Challenges:
- Phindy's Place - clean and simple
- Craft Us Crazy - Favorite stamp company (really, a•muse studio stamps are so versatile!)
- Dutch Dare - for a special lady
- Pixie Dust Studio - embossing
- Fab n Funky - no DP
